Orlando Sports
You may or may not be aware of all the Orlando sports options. Several youth, amateur, professional and special sporting events are played each year in Central Florida.
Professional Sports
Home to only one professional sports team, the
NBA’s Orlando Magic.
The Magic play at
Amway Arena
who also host various other sporting and entertainment events.
Orlando does not have their own football team but is home to the annual New Year’s Day football classic, The Capital One Bowl. The annual event is played at the
Florida Citrus Bowl
In addition to the annual New Year’s Day game, the Citrus Bowl has hosted the Super Bowl, World Cup Soccer, Olympic Soccer and AMA Supercross.
Both the
Atlanta Braves
and the
Detroit Tigers
call Central Florida home for spring training. The Braves train at Disney’s Wide World of Sports and the Tigers in nearby Lakeland.
Youth, Amateur and special sporting events
Disney Wide World of Sports
Where else but at Disney would you find 40 square miles of pure sports! Host to over 170 amateur and professional sporting events each year, the sports enthusiast is sure to find something they like here. This is the number one host site for youth sports in the U.S…and, if you are a parent, this probably isn’t a surprise to you.
