Parks in Orlando
A great way to enjoy the natural beauty of Central Florida is to visit one of the many parks in Orlando. Take a hike, go canoeing, have a picnic or just relax and enjoy the great outdoors.
Blue Spring State Park
is the largest of the springs on St. Johns River and is a designated Manatee Refuge. Manatees aren’t the only thing this park has to offer.
Activities include: nature cruises, kayak tours, canoe rentals, snack bar, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, picnic areas and lodging. Some activities not allowed during Manatee season which is November through March. You can visit for the day or camp here (they even have air conditioned cabins).
Many lakes in Central Florida were created from sinkholes.
Lake Eola
is approximately 43 acres, 23 of which is water. The actual sink hole is to the north of the signature fountain and is approximately 80 feet deep. This is a popular downtown destination with beautiful surroundings and a sidewalk that circles the lake (approximately .9 miles).

Swan shaped paddle boats and electric gondolas are available for rent. Guests of the park can also enjoy feeding the swans, or taking in a concert or play at the newly renovated Walt Disney Amphitheater.

The sculpture gardens at the
Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens
are another way to enjoy Central Florida. Renowned sculptor, Albin Polasek, was born in what is now the Czech Republic. For 30 years Polasek was the head of the Department of Sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago. He and his wife retired to Winter Park and started this foundation to display his work.
